Maple Bourbon Glazed Chicken Wings
Recipe adapted from Ontario Maple
Time required
50 minutes total:
10 minutes to prepare
40 minutes to bake
Ingredients
2 lbs chicken wings
1 tablespoon butter
2 tablespoons grated onion (use a small hole grater)
3/4 cup Milestone Ridge Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrup
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Sriracha or Tabasco sauce (optional) for added spice
Steps to Prepare the Glaze
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the grated onion and cook until softened. The onions should be transparent in colour.
Add the maple syrup, tomato paste, salt, pepper, and the amount of spice you want and whisk until smooth.
Simmer for approximately five minutes, or until thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon.
Steps to Bake and Finish the Chicken Wings
Preheat the oven to 400°F.
Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange the wings to cover the pan.
Roast the wings for 20 minutes on each side until crispy.
Place the cooked wings in a bowl and toss with the prepared sauce.
How to Store
We recommend keeping any leftover chicken wings in an airtight container in the fridge to reheat and enjoy the following day.
